Meat *is* better if you've never frozen it, so there is some wisdom in buying smaller packages at grocery stores, but for the price you pay it's really difficult to justify for your daily needs. We have been buying less beef because we're trying to cut back on beef in and of itself - the carbon footprint for beef is significantly greater than it is for fish or poultry, and there've been a few studies showing that the latter are better for your health, too. Beef has become a treat in our house, rather than a daily thing, and we're trying to cut back on portion sizes too.
Costco does have great meat prices , I'm going to stop buying the ground beef/pork for my burgers, waaaaay to much quantity .
