Hydraglass posted : said by PX Gershom: Yeah what he said.... A&W is probably the most "premium" of the drive-thru ff service places for price (and general quality too). Harvey's and Wendy's would be the next "most premiums". BK & McD's are generally the lower end, but if you get a "premium" combo at any of them you'll be over $10. A Quarter BLT combo with regular fries and coke at McD's is $8.99 + tax (about $10.17 total). On the other hand at same said McD's one can get a Junior Chicken for $1.89, a McDouble for $1.89, and a small fries for $1.89 - that's $5.69 for a pretty decent amount of food (and in the summer they have all drinks for $1, so it gets you out the drive-thru for $6.69 as opposed to $11). A&W doesn't have much "value menu" and they have pretty high mark-ups for things like upgrading to poutine or onion rings in a combo (adds like $4 more) - I think a full on "Teen burger combo, with onion rings, and root beer" at A&W will run you like $14.
You need to look at the "value menus" or similar.
There's still reasonable things to be had.
Combos usually tend to be NOT good for bargains.
A&W has always had a reputation for being more expensive on food.
McDonald's Canada will send promo coupons to your cellphone, I am sure the others do too.
